Based on Facebook, Twitter, and the sounds of the school buses rumbling by my house it’s back to school time!
Hip Hip HOORAY!!!
Back to school in my house means…
1.Routine:
No longer will I be able to roll out of bed fifteen minutes before I have to be to work. I’ll have to wake around (gasp!) sixish to get breakfast prepared, find the elusive sock, or sign a form that was due two days prior.
2. New Beginnings.
Nothing like the Target school supply bin that makes you realize that it’s that time. Between contact paper (I think this is Hell for parents), finding book socks (I used to decorate a brown paper bag), and uniforms (I won’t go there) school is back in swing. Couple that with Back to School nights, Parent Teacher Associations, and being the mom of a Senior – when did THAT happen?! I have new roles to learn.
3. Crisp weather.
I can break out the boots! Boots make just about any outfit look classier.
I also get to break out my crock pot.
It’s amazing that ingredients thrown in before I leave the house turns into dinner when I get home.
Starbucks also makes life much sweeter with the arrival of Pumpkin Spice Latte.

4. Early Evenings.
Despite campaigning for the next election, the busy social lives of the kids, and mom duties, we still all manage to be home around 7:30 for dinner and family time. It might be a competitive game of Just Dance, a battle of kids versus parents in Sorry, or just cracking on what’s playing on the TV, this is OUR time.
5. Tears.
Mine.
My babies are growing up. Where did the time go?
Great list of what back to school means to you! Another things that it means for me is the wave of colds and other illnesses that rapidly float about, which means stocking up on (and keeping tabs of) the medicine cabinet. It also means preparing for the school activities and parties! ~Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I can relate to each one of these points. My baby is in first grade and my oldest in 6th grade and I feel old. UGH. LOL
