Bubbles! has the distinction of finishing Wii Cheer, and the neighborhood kids have named her team captain of the cheer leading squad.
BIG LOL.
The boys have paid them one WHOLE QUARTER to cheer for them in various states of play:
batter, pitcher, outfielder.

I remember the games of summer. In addition to tag, running from the cops when the hydrant was turned on, and the I-don’t-need-to-describe-once-you-hear-the-name “Catch a Girl, Get a Girl (sigh)” Sleeping Beauty and I always had a damn store. We never made any money. We would undersell our merchandise and I think people only bought out of pity.

Today’s kids rarely venture out. There’s video games, arranged play dates, and the phantom pervert who prevents them to run freely, staying out all night.
Not on my block. Like postal employees (without the rage*), these kids are out come rain, snow, sleet, and hail.

* no offense to my fine men and women in blue and white. You guys rock!
