With school around the corner, track practice is about to begin, which means that I have to out more thought into meal planning than I do over the summer. Hot weather means fruit salad, pita pockets full of tuna or chicken salad, or a quick trip to our favorite pizza place if I don’t feel like cooking. When left to his own choice, The PreTeen would fuel his body with a diet of Pop-tars, Slim Jims, and Cream soda. That diet won’t get us to Tokyo 2020! I know that as the adult and parent, it’s my responsibility to make sure he eats properly, but I also know that there are days that begin with the Bus Stop Blues; morphs into every person with a problem finds their way to my office, whether I can assist them or not. After the Battle of the Books, who feels like fighting over how many vegetables are enough to satisfy his daily fuel requirements? Birds Eye vegetables and the Walt Disney Company are launching the Veggin’ In LA With Laura Marano Sweepstakes for frustrated moms like me.
It’s sometimes difficult to get kids to eat properly. The reality is that 9 out of 10 Americans are not eating the recommended amount of vegetables. As leaders in the frozen vegetable category, Birds Eye vegetables is in a unique position to help parents show kids off all ages how tasty and fun getting their daily serving of vegetables can be.
The sweepstakes runs through September 24th and features a grand-prize trip to Los Angeles to “veg out” with Laura Marano (one of the stars of Disney’s hit TV show, Austin & Ally) and enjoy a private dinner party with a Birds Eye chef.
