This past Saturday was the 10th annual Chicken Festival hosted by Christ Lutheran Church. For those without kids or in the know, CLC is number one for engaging the Upper Darby community.
Pastor David Sheehan is the leader of the church, and for 16 years has strived to include the entire community in his quest to make Upper Darby that much better.

The Chicken Festival is a day full of fun (moon bounce, dunk tank), games ( pick a taffy and win a prize! Are you strong enough to make the bell ring?) and contest. I snagged a cake during the cake walk contest. It began as an opportunity for all groups to get together. Who doesn’t like chicken? Plus, it’s just good fun.
Pardon the interruption!
Pastor Dave, as he’s affectionately known, was honored with an award from the Upper Darby Caring Foundation. Councilman Dennis Carey presented him with the Upper Darby appreciation award.
For a mere $8 bucks (ten at the door) you got a chicken dinner. This included a massive piece of chicken, veggies, corn or Mac and Cheese, a roll and a drink.
