When I originally begin blogging, I wasn’t sure what I wanted my blog to be. It was my small place on the web to brag about my knitting, cooking and kids. My goal was to eventually guest write on other blogs and have my followers reach double digits.
I was quite pleased when Sleeping Beauty asked if I wanted to join her and other bloggers to test drive the new Chevy Cruze then write about our experience. In return we would receive some Chevy swag, an outing at Longwood Gardens, lunch, and a complimentary car wash.
Call me a cheap date, but I JUMPED at the opportunity!
We arrived at Diver Chevrolet around one. After a meet and greet, we were then ushered to the garage where we were given a tour of the cars. I immediately shined to the Equinox. My first car was a Nissan Pathfinder and I like the look and feel of an SUV. Nothing like being up high on the road!
The group was also shown the Traverse (too big for my taste), the Malibu (on par with a Lexus or Infinity) a Camaro (SWEET!) and the newest entry to the car line, the Chevy Cruze.
We all got to pick a car to drive. One of the men with us immediately called dibs on the Camaro so I couldn’t hot dog like I wanted to. I chose the Equinox and we set off to the Gardens. Longwood Garden was lovely. I can see myself visiting again for a place to be alone and quiet. I’m not a big flower person since I have a brown thumb and kill almost every flower I plant. My gardening tends to run more on the food side: herbs, fruit, mints. The Mister would love it, especially the rose garden. We may return for the fireworks and fountain show. Also the food. The lunch we were served was delicious! Lunch was a buffet style barbecue that included an array of salads and veggies, salmon, burgers and hot dogs. A cat that rivaled Fat Mittens wandered into the outdoor meal area and flopped to the ground, waiting to be rubbed. I obliged.
*Disclosure: Chevy provided transportation for the road trip, meals and free tickets to Longwood Gardens.
