Ahhh Love Day!
Being married more work than any happily ever after tale. It takes work!
There are times when I play my music and I just dream of the Mister and how much I love him. Then there are songs (Bust Your Window by Jazmine Sullivan comes to mind) when I have to fly to the bathroom (my make do prayer room) and pray away the hard feelings.
As I type this, I’m feeling like Nikki Giovanni in the poem:
I Wrote A Good Omelet
I wrote a good omelet…and ate a hot poem…
after loving you
Buttoned my car…and drove my coat home…in the rain…
after loving you
I goed on red…and stopped on green….floating somewhere in between…
being here and being there…
after loving you
I rolled my bed…turned down my hair…slightly confused but…I don’t care…
Laid out my teeth…and gargled my gown…then I stood…and laid me down…
to sleep…after loving you

To the Mister:
I Love You.
