Diva on a Dime
This week I have another black dress that I am excited to have purchased for a fraction of the price I normally would have paid.
The Mister, The PreTeen, and I attended the 80th Birthday Party for the pastor of his church. Despite the cold, it was good to be at an event that didn’t require jeans or glitter and glue.
I like this dress because even though it’s a simple frock, it still makes a statement of elegance. I paired this with light makeup, my favorite silver hoops, and a chunky black necklace. I thought about adding a belt or something to define the waist, but my wardrobe is currently not that versatile.
My next challenge is to find accessories that make my outfit stand out, and not to lose them. I have many orphan earrings, necklaces that have a broken clasp, and bracelets that are a tangled and no longer of any use. If I took it off at night, my wedding ring would have been long gone. I’m sure The Mister appreciates this thoughtfulness.
I finally have my makeup out of clown town thanks to an informative post by Cecily Kellogg.
My sister took part in a 30 day scarf challenge and I can see how that small addition could spruce up any outfit.
Any tips on accessories? As much as I love the thrill of clothes shopping, I think that I can get more mileage out of my current threads if I can jazz things up with the right pieces.
