When I grow up, I want to be one of those little old ladies that still drive, bake, visit the family and sometimes wear gold trim track suits to the casino*. Much like the ladies of the Havertown Library where I sit and knit for a whizzing two hours.
* no one has yet to wear this
Today Missy (Georgia transplant, not my sister) brought her 3 year old rescue bunny who hopped and jingled through the room. Missy sewed an Audrey Hepburn nightgown, does cross stitch, knit, and bakes ginger cake. I hate her. **no really, she is just uber woman, and old mrsrkfj would have hated her immediately, I do harbor some hidden hate. Her seams were hella straight!**
Mildred and Millie, a mom daughter team, asked for the wavy scarf pattern I’m working on.
Deb, a retired teacher, asked about the blanket from hell.
Doris is working on a crochet jacket that is made with fingering yarn.
Mabel is 91. She drives to New Jersey every other week to visit her nursing home friends. She has also started a three year project she just started. Random Deb comment, I don’t even buy green bananas much less start a three year project.
I love this group. They chit chat, gave me a recipe for sweet and sour meatballs and are so positive and welcoming.
This is Friday mornings from 10 to noon.
