The line for Lois Lowry at Book Expo America cued up two hours before she was scheduled to appear. Waiting to meet the person who wrote a book I gobbled in one evening was exciting. I didn’t want to gush all over her, but I did want to tell her how much I appreciated her strong story telling. Reading The Giver (Giver Quartet Book 1) was an eye opening way to look at life.
I didn’t get a chance to tell her anything more than a rushed “my son loved this book” before I was pushed to the side for the next person who wanted a signed book. She was a crusty but sharp witted woman!
Fast forward to this past week. I signed up at Advanced Movie Screenings for passes to early screenings of movies. This past Monday, The Mister took The PreTeen to see an early debut.
Below, The PreTeen gives his The Giver Movie Review.
