On the Simpsons last night, we all chuckled as Nelson Muntz signed his trademark ‘Haw Haw’ as Milhouse was led away to begin his suspension.
As if foreshadowing for today, the Lansdowne Public Library had a teacher come in to show some kids how to use their hands to talk.
Not like me when I get cut off in traffic or channel my inner Tony Soprano (this is for you, T!) but to use their hands to communicate like the hearing impaired.
The Boy and his friend learned how to sign the alphabet, colors (I learned beer, wine and beyotch!) and animals.
It was pretty cool to see a room full of children enraptured as they learned the letters, and then each signed their name.
Next week, we learn more food (ummm, pizza) and our family members.
