After months of pain and speculation, I finally got the answer to why my hand has been hurting me:
De Quervian’s Tendinitis occurs when the tendons around the base of thumb are irritated or constricted.
It took the doctor all of seven minutes to determine that I have this. Reading over the material sent home, I could have visited WebMD to diagnose myself.
But I digress.
I now wear a wrist splint and continue to include calcium rich products in my diet, stop knitting when it hurts and ice my wrist every evening.
