First it was too hot, then it was my hands, now it’s my desire.
The weather has broken, and I’m numbed up enough, but what to knit?
Very thankful for the suggestion of the lace ribbon scarf from Knitty, I have abandoned it because my stash is mostly sock yarn and a few balls of Lion’s Cotton Ease.
The Socknitters and Knitlist have their knickers in a knot about Colin’s Knit Along, a group for those interested in toe up socks. Colin is quite the charmer in the messages I have read on the lists. Since I am ambitious (read: a hater) and because I want to be in the know about all things knit, I joined, interested in a new technique. I’m now attempting Judy’s Magic Cast On which is supposed to be an easier way to figure eight cast on but leaves me wondering why I do this to myself.
There’s the Prayer Shawl I’m making for an anonymous recipient, a tank for the Teen, a toy for the cats, mittens from last winter, sachets for our summer science project, and of course socks that have no mates.
The yarn and time I have. The will, not so.
I should be happy: no early morning routines, the days are truly lazy and five DVR’d Judge Judy’s waiting to be watched. Instead, I’m stuck. I have no desire to pick up needles and knit.
