I envy the way my husband watches television. He actively watches, Meaning, he’s not folding laundry, making the bed, listening while he washes dishes. He puts his all into watching the show that’s playing. I tried to do the same, but my Mom Brain refuses to allow me to be in the moment.
For this reason, I found myself lost in the documentary “I Know That Voice” playing on Netflix. The film is about the voices behind beloved characters in films and TV shows. The film is about the voice actors. I was able to follow the movie, using my memory to recall certain voice stars, and I enjoyed this movie with gusto while I continued with my “Mom” duties.
The documentary introduces the viewer to John DiMaggio, the voice behind Bender of Futurama and Jake of Adventure Time.
Maurice LaMarche, who voiced one of my favorite cartoon characters:

Pinky: Gee, Brain. What are we going to do tonight?
The Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to take over the world.
There are scores of other voice actors who breathe life into beloved characters from the screen.
The Boy and I played around with some voice characters:
The Boy doing Frank Caliendo as Charles Barkley:
Me doing Louise from Bob’s Burgers
Who’s your favorite voice actor? Leave a link to your own attempt to do a voice. I’ll feature them on a post tomorrow!
