The group, F*** It I’m Fat, is a motivational space on Facebook for women to share their challenges, triumphs, and support as we try to lose weight. At the present, I’m still in the I Wish stage. I Wish I was losing weight, but my body has reacted badly to a new medication (I hate getting old!) and despite a modified diet (no soda, no sugar, 1200 calories a day) I’m gaining.
Talk about not being a happy camper.
The picture above is one of the tools we use. Looking at the picture, I realize it’s not about the weight loss but about making healthier choices. Even though I’m not losing, I now have a healthier attitude to my body. I’ve accepted that I didn’t gain overnight so I won’t lose overnight. Everyday I have a choice: I can treat my body as a temple or I can cram junk food in myself and then pay for it later. Does this always work? Of course not. I do know that I don’t have to beat myself up everyday if I’m not following a diet or exercise plan to the letter.
What are you using to motivate yourself?
I try…
As usual you dealt with a hard topic honesty and in a humorous way. Many of share your struggle and are rooting for you to do well.
