Girl Scout Cookies have left the building!
I expected to feel a happy, freeing, weight off my shoulders but I actually feel a little anti climatic.I don’t know how to feel. It’s been a long month, and the Teen has surpassed her goal of 2000 boxes of cookies. We wait for a final total but our count from receipts is close to 2200.
That’s a lot of Thin Mints!
It wasn’t all bad. Yes, I had to develop my upper body strength and the Teen could be quite incorrigible when she wanted to go to the mall but had to sell cookies, but it was a great experience.
The Teen developed some techniques that she can translate to other areas of her life, she got a crash course on economics, and I didn’t get one ticket.
We went underneath the city to set up at Suburban Station, my hypothetical examples came to life in the form of workers in the various stores who ABSOLUTELY hated their jobs but stayed due to whatever curve ball was thrown their way, so the Teen saw firsthand what half assedness (I just made that up) gets you.
Quick note: follow your dreams and listen to your parents. We know a little something, something.
I’m really glad that this is over.
We now return to normal living.
