In one week Upper Darby goes back to school. Unfortunately, The Boy doesn’t start until September so I have a bit more time to perfect my morning routine.
Wasn’t it just June? I’m having a hard time believing that school starts next week. My goodness, have mercy!
With the start of the school year, new routines have to take place. I will never be that mom with her stuff together. I proved that the 12 years my daughter was in school and my record remains unchallenged with The Boy.
I will miss the leisurely evenings that found me in the gym cheering on the contestants of Wheel of Fortune (don’t judge!). I can still workout, but now I have to add Back to School nights, track parent meetings, Parent Association (or whatever they call them nowadays) and other functions that prevent me from vegging in front of the telly.
I’ll also have to squeeze in my runs between these events.
Never fear, the September issue of Shape magazine (available now) has 8 hacks for going from sweaty to ready (because one must look and smell their best when listening to a teacher drone through the class rules. Again.) Get your workout in, get gorgeous, get out. The 8 gym essentials will all go into my bag (maybe I’ll skip the dryer. My hair is doing it’s own thing and I’ve learned to accept this new me.)
