Tangled Tuesday: Not For Sale

January 29, 2013

When my post appeared in the print copy of Metro Kids, I was excited at my bit of notoriety.

It also brought a slew of requests for hand made items. One woman wants an entrelac hat. Another wants the black shawl.  Still another wants my purple shawl. The Teen is still begging for a pair of mittens to match her cowl.

I’ve been taking requests, but since I don’t charge (unless asking the requester to purchase the yarn counts), my completion dates are ambiguous   I really should be whipping out projects like crazy since we’re in the height of Girl Scout Cookie season, but I’m not in the mood to knit.

I do like to knit.  It relaxes me, it helps me solve complex problems, it’s down time. Unless the pattern is particularly intricate, I usually zone out to the click-click of my needles and the sound of Judge Judy or Hoarders playing in the background.

With selling the cookies, I’ve been more vigilant watching for “Cookie Monsters”, those folks who make it their mission to steal hard earned cookie profits.  I’ve also enjoyed being out of Upper Darby, people watching, and of course chatting it up with The Teen.

I did join the ladies of the Wynnefield Library Crochet group for a day of service on the Saturday before MLK day.  As usual, we sat and chatted while working on blankets for veterans and victims of domestic abuse.

On the needles: The Black Cowl.  I’m determined to work on my PhD:

Well, nothing is on my needles because I don’t knit..well not yet, but this article is so inspiring! && that picture up top is too fierce! Love it! I think I need to find something that truly relaxes me other than fitness/exercising.
