I’m always late with TV shows. When everyone was hooked on Breaking Bad, I was just getting into The Wire. I have three weeks of TV shows on my DVR that will most likely be deleted for shows that the rest of the family will actually view.
I’m into Bates Hotel now. I watch it while I’m washing dishes, shaking my head at Norma’s erratic behavior, Norman’s awkwardness, and hoping that I never decide to uproot my family and open a dilapidated motel.
I like the idea of prequels in TV shows. Growing up with the image of adult Norman Bates slashing away at Marion Crane, it’s a hoot to see how he became that man.
The same thing with AMC’s Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul. When the first trailers began to make it’s way through my Facebook feed, I went back to season 2, episode 8 where the viewer meets the titular character.
When we all manage to coordinate our schedules, I let the kids pick. The Boy is partial to anime.
The Teen picks original Netflix series, picking apart the women of Orange is the New Black.
The Mister will watch anything.
Netflix has provided me with products and services in exchange for participation in their #StreamTeam program.
