Hallelujah! Hallelujah Halle-Lu-Jah!
|A New Non-Boy Day is Dawning|
Kids and the young at heart may feel that Christmas is the most wonderful time, but parents, especially those who stay home, KNOW September is the bestest (yeah, I’m making up words. Don’t judge – that’s glee!). Both The Teen and The Boy are back to school!
As usual, summer flew by. One minute we were mired in heat wave Hell, the next, we were scraping up school supplies and attempting to get more mileage from last year’s uniforms. The Teen went back last week, and although I was more sad to admit that I have a SOPHOMORE in high school, I knew she would be fine.
The Boy is a different story. I see a maturity from summer open to summer end. He’s still loud and a ball of energy, but he’s also able to focus more and has more pointed and direct questions.
Surprisingly, I didn’t cry or get emotional. When the bus came, I gave the Boy a hug and wished him a good day. As the bus pulled away, I said a small prayer for a productive and safe year.
Then I did a dance.
Happy days indeed.
