Monday morning, I was telling some coworkers how much I’d like to see Duran Duran in concert. Twelve hours later, I indeed was the chick going bat caca crazy when Simon Le Bon bounded on stage.
Prior to the summer, it had been YEARS since I attended a concert that wasn’t part of Penn’s Landing summer series or a free standing room only event.
Thanks to Twitter and my Social Media Moms, I have seen Kem and The Bangles. Now I can add Duran Duran to that list.
The warm up act was a group called Neon Trees. Meh. I was content to sit and wait for Duran Duran, but when the lead singer decided clarified we had another 40 minutes, I went in search of other ways to occupy my time. I met a couple from York who saw Amy Winehouse when she first came on the scene. Then I met a fellow who wanted to discuss the Wall of Sound.
Smokers meet the most interesting people.
My throat and head STILL ache. I present Duran Duran in concert.
As usual, please ignore my off key singing and screaming.

Social Media Moms, always working. |
It was really cool. If you followed the #hashtag duransocial and #duranlive, your tweet was flashed on the screen on stage, hence the smartphones lit up.

My sister loved his sideburns. |
The crowd went f@#king nuts when they sand Rio. I lost my voice at this point.
Now I need a-Ha, Spandau Ballet, and some other folks who show up regularly on VH-1 to hit the concert scene.
LOVE the post! What’s the next concert we are going to?? I am IN!! =)
