Lately I haven’t had time to blog because I have a new toy. I rewarded myself for not smoking with a Kindle Fire. I wish I could say I remained smoke free, but I rationalised just one wouldn’t hurt. Back to square one.
I also haven’t blogged because the topics that are burning in my mind haven’t marinated enough for me to succinctly express myself without the old me ready to whip ass.
So I’ll stick with my Kindle Fire love. I didn’t think I could embrace anything other than my mobile device. Wrong.
Originally, I was against the idea of eBooks. How would new authors get discovered if I couldn’t covertly look at the cover of the novel my seat mate was so engrossed in? How would I soak in the tub, lounge in the park, keep sand out of my electronic?
Well, those questions flew out the window five minutes after I transferred my first book from the Lansdowne Public Library. Reading Thirteen Reasons Why I eschewed TV, social media, my Twitter obsession all for a book.
I’ve rediscovered the love of reading again!
When I’ve exhausted all of my library loans, I can take advantage of the freebies offered daily through various sites.
