When I was younger, my grandmother used to babysit my sister and I on Saturday nights. This was before cable so my sister and I were stuck watching what ever was the Million Dollar movie on ABC.
I remember trying to imitate the dancers and loving that almost any problem could be solved in 90 minutes with some kicking music. This was where I fell in love with musicals.
Disney introduced The Little Mermaid in 1989 and I fell back in love with musicals.
This week’s linky is a nod to Disney. What ten Disney songs would describe your life?
2. A Spoonful of Sugar (Mary Poppins)
Sometimes I have to (as Janeane would say) put on my Big Girl Panties and fake it till I make it. A spoonful of sugar does indeed make the medicine go down.
3. You’ve Got a Friend in Me (Toy Story)
This playful tune reminds me that I’m not alone.
4. I’ll Make a Man Out of You (Mulan)
Sometimes I feel like Mulan, struggling to fit in a man’s world.
5. I’ve Got No Strings (Pinocchio)
Some days I feel free of the shackles of life.
6.Go the Distance (Hercules)
Like the lyrics says “I know every mile will be worth my while”
7. A Whole New World (Aladdin)
Living with The Mister can feel that way some days.
8. A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes (Cinderella)
A good friend says she believe her dreams are prophetic. I took her advice and started keeping a dream journal. I have seen some positive changes since I began.
10. Hakuna Matata
Because in the end, there really are no worries!
