Tangled Tuesday
For the Mittens, I used a basic pattern of the following:
Using a size 7 needle and Vanna’s Choice Yarn, CO 24 Stitches.
Join to make a circle, careful not to twist the stitches.
K1, P1 until the cuff is about 2 1/2 inches long.
Switch to K all rows, then use waste yarn to create an “AFTER THOUGHT” Thumb. Here’s a link to a video that shows you how to set up this technique.
Then knit until you reach the desired length for the mitten. I did a modified Kitchener’s/Whipshaw stitch to close the mittens. A knitting goal for 2014 is to learn how to do this technique.
The pattern for the hat was modified from the site “Hey Julie“. The Teen opted for no ties from the ear flap and a different top.
What’s on your needles?
