Vaseline Pink

November 3, 2013

UPDATE

I added a video review from The PreTeen:

Yesterday was the Mom Mixer hosted by Colleen of Classy Mommy and Whitney of Mommies With Style.

The Mom Mixer is the Blogger Holiday kick off. We preview toys and products and get a chance to see folks in real life that we normally talk to via Facebook and Twitter.

Yesterday, Vaseline was one of the sponsors, and we were able to preview two new products.

First was spray and go moisturizer.

Spray and Go Cocoa

According to the rep, some women don’t moisturize daily. As a woman of color, I don’t have that luxury. My skin would look chalky and I’d itch like crazy. I actually like the idea of moisturizing as part of my daily routine. It’s the last step before I’m totally committed to the day and the outfit I’m wearing. What I DON’T like about moiturizing is that there’s always the chance that I’ll get some on my clothes and spend the rest of the day looking like I sat in something foul.

Cue Spray and Go. Just like the commercials, you spray yourself, rub it in, and go. This is perfect for PreTeens who think lotion is a chore, and walk around looking like instead of legs they have two cigarettes sticking out of their shoes.

A bonus is that is absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a residue. I wish I could tell you more about the product, but after doing a demonstration of how convenient it is, The PreTeen whisked it away to his room, where it sits next to his grooming products.

The next product reminds me of my grandmother. My grandmother used to have a chemistry lab on her bureau. She would take a jar of vaseline, some Jergens, and the perfume she was fond of, mix it all together, and create her own body creme. When she ran low on lipstick, she would take a small container of vaseline, add her lip color, and have lip tint until she could get some more.

That’s what Vaseline Rosy Lips brings to mind.

In a handy purse size container with a pleasant hint of rose, Vaseline Lip Therapy ain’t my grandmamma’s lip balm.

I was also treated to a makeover by the ladies from Vaseline.

**** I received a sample of both products but the views and opinions expressed in this post belong only to me.****
