Don’t it always seem to go
that you don’t know what you got ’til it’s gone**
Last night, the residents of Upper Darby fought the good fight, but lost. For six hours, residents stood to talk about the impact that the new budget cuts would have on their lives. The residents spoke, some emotionally charged, some just grandstanding, and tried to change the School Board’s decision to eliminate so called “specials”.
I admire the tenacity of the parents who showed up. I also admire the honesty of some who rather than point fingers and make speeches, accepted that while the cuts were harsh, they should have been involved in before this point.
