Do you put the needs of others first and ignore your own?
Have you ever found yourself taking the long way home because you’re not ready to face the family?
Have you ever found yourself sitting on the edge of the tub, crying because you just don’t have the strength to go on?
I can answer yes to all of those questions and I’m certain that other women I know can answer yes as well. As we go through the motions of the day, we sometimes forget to nurture the one relationship that truly matters.
The relationship with ourselves. No matter what relationship you are trying to cultivate, if we don’t know and love ourselves, we can’t build a healthy relationship with anyone else. That’s why I’m pleased to assist my friend and fellow Toastmaster in an event designed to help women love themselves again. On Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, join dynamic speaker Pamela Elaine Johnson as she shares her story of loving herself.
Pam said she decided to make a change when she found herself crying in the bathroom thinking about her impending divorce. Channeling her inner Mary Mary, Pam decided she shed her last tear and was tired of pretending. Yes, she’s still hurt. Yes, she’s still in pain, but Pam refused to allow divorce to rob her of her beauty or her strength. Pam credits the help of her friends who constantly reminded her that she was not alone.
- Invite women to this event. Let them know that this event has been planned for you and them, especially women who are going through a difficult relationship and need to feel better about who they are.
- Sponsor a ticket! Some women who find it difficult to care for themselves won’t take time or money for themselves.
